Nachiket Kamatkar

Nachiket Kamatkar completed his undergraduate degree in 2009 at the University of Notre Dame where he majored in Biological Sciences as well as Film, Theatre, and Television.  Subsequently, he took a job in New York City with City Year, a non-profit organization whose main goal is to reduce the national high school drop out rate.  Nachiket was essentially a teacher’s assistant in an elementary school (PS 75) in the South Bronx, where he dealt with illiteracy, knife fights, and nagging kids—and had a blast. Nachiket then returned to Notre Dame to pursue a Masters in Bioengineering.  He will finish in August 2012.  Afterwards, he will start a Ph.D program in Biomedical Sciences at Einstein Medical School in the Bronx.
